June 2024: Our prosthetic interfaces project has received an Innovation and Translation Research Award from the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute.

February 2024: An operating grant is awarded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) to the lab in collaboration with Dr. Wolfram Tetzlaff laboratory for five years to study the effects of optogenetics stimulation on axonal growth after spinal cord injury in rodents.

Adan Moallemi

May 2023: Our Masters student (and one of our very own previous undergraduate students), Adan Moallemi, has won the 2023 CIHR Canada Graduate Scholarship – Master’s (CGS-M) award. This is one of the highest honours awarded to Masters students in Canada. We are very proud of you, Adan. Congratulations!

April 2023: Our (first ever) undergraduate student, Alexander Golab, has been selected for the 2023 NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Award (USRA), a prestigious national scholarship in Canada. Well done, Alex and congratulations!

Adan and Nadine Poster Presentation

September 2021: Adan Moallemi and Nadine Truter, our summer undergraduate students, won the second place in the best poster presentation of the Faculty of Medicine Multidisciplinary Research Program in Medicine (MRPM) at the 2021 Student Research Conference.
